chairs not the most comfortable given the waiting time but really friendly and helpful staff. pleased I came.
I arrived at the eye infirmary this morning at a particularly busy time. The receptionist was quick and accommodating. I had a half hour wait for triage which was carried out quickly by a cheerful nurse. I then waited for another 20 minutes and was called in by an outstanding Chinese doctor who was knowledgeable, efficient and very sympathetic. It was the NHS at its best!
The premises were not particularly attractive and could do with a refurbishment and I don''t like the parking fees where no change is given. I paid for 2 hours.
I arrived home in time for lunch with my mind at rest and marvelling at what the NHS personnel manage to do on the budget they are given.
I cannot speak highly enough of the work they do and long may it continue.
Thank you for my great care, being a nervous patient I know I can be a nightmare but both the triage nurse & eye doctor were very reassuring & kind to me. I felt my concerns were listened to & was very pleased with the care I received. Whole experience was only about 90 mins which was also a lot quicker than I expected. Thank you so much
Fantastic service. Attended late in the day. Was triaged quickly. Attentive, friendly service. Thank you.
Seen by Triage nurse within 10 minutes of arriving which was impressive as the department was very busy. The nurse told me that it would be at least an hour before a doctor could see me and suggested I might like to go to the cafe which I did. I did have a much longer wait but I had expected this before I came as I realise how busy they are and my problem was not as urgent as some of the other patients. The doctor who saw me was very thorough and reassuring.
I always find that the care given by the Eye Infirmary is tremendous. Although there was a lengthy wait, this has to be expected in such a busy department.
I could not fault the efficiency of the procedure with both the triage nurse and doctor.
On arrival, I immediately was made to feel at ease. I was seen within the hour. My details were speedily taken by a very efficient receptionist and the following on treatment was explained in detail to me by friendly nurses. I do also have to mention the RVS cafe - it was a relief to know they provided this great service.
As far as I can see there is no need for improvement. Their clerical and administration were good. Luckily I was attending at a quieter time. The senior nurse who did my assessment was totally professional, as one would expect. For me the marvellous thing was that having done all his tests, he was then so reassuring, not total clean bill of health, but not too nasty. As an older person this was an enormous relief and he sussed me out straight away, brilliant. A short while later I saw the consultant, again top notch and after a very rigorous set of tests, I left knowing that I could carry on, but could always go back if my condition changed. The standard of care is just as good as it was when I used to take an elderly, rather difficult, nearly blind old lady to the Infirmary, ten years ago!! She was then pronounced totally blind, but her follow ups were always equally reassuring. Thank you all
Staff pleasant, efficient Dr very thorough, good.
Packing machine at entrance not working no notice to where you could pay ,very frustrating.
